Class Descriptions:
  • Ballet -  The foundation for all dance forms. Body placement, efficient movementMomentum Dance Tulsa Student Ballet and range are enhanced through Barre, adagio, petit allegro, combinations, and turns. Grace, posture and poise are explored.

  • Pointe - An extension of ballet using Pointe shoes.  Pointe work begins a teacher’s discretion.  Two ballet classes must be taken in conjunction with Pointe.
  • Tap -   A rhythmic style of dance.  Rhythm, coordination, and musicality are enhanced through warm-ups, speed and rhythm exercises, and combinations.
  • Jazz -  Many styles of jazz are explored through warm-ups, isolations, stretching, footwork, progressions, turns, leaps and combinations. Styles include lyrical, classical and musical comedy.
  • Hip Hop - Hip Hop is a style of jazz dancing using moves that have freedom and style.  Class consists of isolations, warm-ups, and stretches; and then proceeds to combinations with an emphasis on current popular dance moves.
  • Modern - Body awareness, strength, flexibility and creative expression are explored with a warm-up, movement across the floor and a combination.
  • Lyrical - A combination of ballet, jazz and modern dance styles that is used to tell the story of the music.
Class Dress Attire:
  • Ballet: 3 & 4 Year Olds: Pink leotard, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, and hair secured off the neck.
  • 5 & 6 Year Olds: White leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, hair secured off the neck.
  • Ballet 1: Baby blue leotard, pink tights, pink split-soled ballet shoes, hair in bun.
  • Ballet 2: Navy blue leotard, pink tights, pink split-soled ballet shoes, hair in bun.
  • Ballet 3: Black leotard, pink tights, pink split-soled ballet shoes, hair in bun.
  • Ballet 4 (Pointe): Black leotard, pink tights, pink split-soled ballet shoes, pointe shoes as directed by instructor, hair in bun.
  • Jazz, Modern and Acro: Solid color leotard, black, tan or pink tights, dancewear jazz pants or shorts, split-soled jazz shoes, hair secured off the neck, and out of face.
  • Tap: Same as jazz above, but with black tap shoes.
  • Hip-Hop & Streetdance: Appropriate clothing, tennis shoes, and hair out of the face. Spin gloves and hats as directed by instructor. No jeans or short shorts for Hip-Hop. Examples of acceptable clothing include: Jazz pants, Long & Capri length sweat pants for girls and long basketball shorts or sweat pants for boys.
